Frequently Asked Questions

  • Permanent jewelry is a custom-fit bracelet, anklet, or necklace that is welded closed instead of using a clasp. The piece is fitted to your body and attached with a quick, safe micro-weld so it stays on continuously.

  • Not at all! The weld happens on a tiny jump ring connecting the chain and never touches your skin. A protective barrier is placed between your skin and the chain during the process for added safety.

  • For Keeps Jewelry Bar offers 14k gold-filled and sterling silver chains, which are durable, high-quality metals designed for everyday wear.

  • Yes! Your permanent jewelry is designed to be worn daily. You can shower, swim, and exercise while wearing it. To keep it looking its best, occasional cleaning with mild dish soap and water is recommended.

  • If you ever need to remove your jewelry (for medical procedures, travel, etc.), simply cut the jump ring connecting the chain. The chain can be brought back to us to be rewelded for $20.

  • If your chain breaks within 14 days of your appointment, we will reweld it for free. After that period, reweld services are available for $20.

  • Most people travel through TSA with permanent jewelry without any issues. However, security policies can vary. If you’re ever asked to remove it, simply cut the jump ring and have it rewelded later.

  • Gold-filled and sterling silver jewelry are durable, but certain things can cause tarnishing over time. Frequent exposure to harsh chemicals, chlorine, perfumes, or lotions may affect the metal. If you ever notice tarnishing, contact us for guidance on cleaning or restoring your piece.

  • Yes! Permanent jewelry can be done for children with a parent or guardian present. We recommend this service for children who are comfortable sitting still during the quick welding process.

  • The process is quick and typically takes 5–10 minutes per piece. First, we help you choose your chain and size it to your wrist, ankle, or neck. Once the fit is perfect, the chain is connected with a quick micro-weld to create your permanent piece.
